One page for every cursive letter

Each cursive letter has its own page, with how the capital and the lowercase are formed and a sheet of that one letter to trace.

What's on each sheet

Every version prints on US Letter or A4, with its answer key on the last page.

A mixed sheet that draws letters from the whole alphabet prints from 3rd grade cursive alphabet.

How to teach this

Capital V starts with a small hook on the left, a little below the top line. Swing up to the top line, slide down, round the bottom on the bottom line and swing up the right side to the top line, finishing with a tiny loop and a short stroke out to the right. It ends at the top, so capital V does not join. Lowercase v starts with a small hook at the middle line. Slide down, round the bottom and swing up the right side to the middle line, and stop there. Like b, o and w, v ends high: in a word it makes a small curl at the middle line and the join leaves from there. Written alone, as on the sheet, lowercase v has no lead-in stroke; in a word, the join from the letter before runs up into where it starts.

Watch for: Lowercase v with a sharp point at the bottom, as in print. Cursive v rounds the bottom. Joining out of lowercase v from the bottom line. It ends at the middle line, and the join leaves from there.

Common questions about cursive V

Why is cursive v round at the bottom?
The pencil never stops at the bottom, so it turns in a curve instead of a point. The rounded bottom is what lets the whole v be one stroke.
Does cursive capital V join the next letter?
No. It ends at the top line with a tiny loop and a short stroke to the right, so the next letter starts on its own.
