Cursive C worksheets
Cursive C worksheets for third grade, and a quick win for second graders starting cursive. The sheet traces capital C and lowercase c as dotted outlines on alternate rows, then gives each row room to write the letter alone. The cursive c is close to the print one, with a hook at the start and a tail at the end.

One page for every cursive letter
Each cursive letter has its own page, with how the capital and the lowercase are formed and a sheet of that one letter to trace.
What's on each sheet
- One letter, capital and small. Trace the letter on each line. Then write it yourself on the rest of the line. 6 rows per page.
Every version prints on US Letter or A4, with its answer key on the last page.
A mixed sheet that draws letters from the whole alphabet prints from 3rd grade cursive alphabet.
How to teach this
Capital C starts a little below the top line on the right with a small hook. Curve up over the top, down the left side to the bottom line, then swing up and out to the right. Lowercase c is the same at the small size: start just under the middle line with the hook, curve over and down around to the bottom line, and swing out. That last swing is the exit stroke, and the next letter starts from it, so both c's join. The hook at the start is what makes it cursive. A c without it is a print c with a tail. Written alone, as on the sheet, lowercase c has no lead-in stroke; in a word, the join from the letter before runs up into where it starts.
Watch for: Starting at the bottom and going around the wrong way. The pencil starts at the top right and moves left first, the same way as for a, d, g, o and q.
Common questions about cursive C
- Which cursive letters start like c?
- a, d, g, o and q all start with the same move back to the left from the top. Once c is steady, those come quickly.
- Is cursive C a good letter to start with?
- Yes. It is one curve with a hook and a tail, and the capital and the lowercase are the same shape, so a child learns two letters for the price of one.
