One page for every cursive letter

Each cursive letter has its own page, with how the capital and the lowercase are formed and a sheet of that one letter to trace.

What's on each sheet

Every version prints on US Letter or A4, with its answer key on the last page.

A mixed sheet that draws letters from the whole alphabet prints from 3rd grade cursive alphabet.

How to teach this

Capital T is two strokes. Make the top first: start a little below the top line on the left, curve up and run straight across the top line. Then the stem: start on the top line under the middle of that stroke, slide down to the bottom line, curve back to the left and finish with a small upturn. It does not join. Lowercase t starts below the top line, about halfway between the middle line and the top line. Slide straight down to the bottom line and flick up and out, then cross it at the middle line once the flick is done. The flick joins the next letter. In a word, many children finish the word first and come back to cross the t. Written alone, as on the sheet, lowercase t has no lead-in stroke; in a word, the join from the letter before runs up into where it starts.

Watch for: Lowercase t made with a loop, like an l. The t is a single line down with no loop, and it stops short of the top line. Capital T with a bar across the middle, which makes it an F. Only the F gets the bar.

Common questions about cursive T

What is the difference between cursive t and cursive l?
The loop and the height. l is a tall loop up to the top line; t is a single line that starts lower and gets a cross.
Should the top of cursive capital T be wavy?
Not in this style. The T's top runs flat along the top line after a small curve at the start; the wave belongs to capital F. Some school charts give T a wavy top as well, so follow your child's class chart if it differs.
