One page for every cursive letter

Each cursive letter has its own page, with how the capital and the lowercase are formed and a sheet of that one letter to trace.

What's on each sheet

Every version prints on US Letter or A4, with its answer key on the last page.

A mixed sheet that draws letters from the whole alphabet prints from 3rd grade cursive alphabet.

How to teach this

Capital N starts with a small hook on the left, a little below the top line. Swing up to the top line and slide straight down to the bottom line. Go back up the same line partway, swing over in one hump that reaches the top line, come down to the bottom line and flick out. Lowercase n starts with a small hook at the middle line. Slide down to the bottom line, go back up, make one hump that reaches the middle line, come down and flick out. The flick joins the next letter. Watch the hump: it should be as tall as the line beside it, reaching the middle line on a lowercase n and the top line on a capital. Written alone, as on the sheet, lowercase n has no lead-in stroke; in a word, the join from the letter before runs up into where it starts.

Watch for: Lowercase n with two humps, which is an m. The n has one. Capital N drawn with a slanted middle line, as in print. In cursive the N is a line and a hump.

Common questions about cursive N

What is the difference between cursive n and cursive m?
One hump. n goes down and makes one hump; m makes two. Tracing them on the same day makes the count stick.
Why does capital N look like a lowercase n?
In cursive it is one, drawn to the top line. The print N with its diagonal plays no part in it.
