What's on a 3rd grade sheet

The sample sheet above has 50 problems. Its answers run from 0 to 90.

Every version prints on US Letter or A4, with its answer key after the problems.

How to teach this

Do not time a child who is still working the tables out; the clock will teach guessing. Once the tables are known, set a minute and see how far they get, then finish untimed. Mark the slow facts (usually 6s, 7s, 8s) and give those their own short practice before the next round.

Watch for: Kids skip-count under their breath for every fact, which works but is too slow for a timed grid. The grid is for facts already known. Kids mix up 6 × 7 and 6 × 8 under time pressure. Slow down on the sixes and sevens; they are the ones worth drilling separately.

Common questions about 3rd grade multiplication mad minute

How is this different from the multiplication facts page?
Same facts, different job. That page leads with a column sheet for practice; this page is a timed grid for speed.
Why fifty problems and not a hundred?
Fifty fits one page at a size a child can read. Print two sheets for a hundred; each print is a fresh mix.
