3rd grade 10 times table worksheets

Tap to see another sample sheet. The picture follows the difficulty you pick.

Every problem on these sheets is from the 10 times table, 10 × 0 through 10 × 12, shuffled so your child recalls each fact rather than counting down the list. Third graders use one-table sheets to fix a single table before mixing it with the rest.

How to teach this

The 10s are usually the first table children know, because of place value: ten sevens is seven tens. Say it that way rather than 'add a zero', so the same idea carries to 10 × 12 = 120 and later to 10 × 3.5. The sheet is quick practice for confidence, and the base for the 5s (half) and the 12s (10s plus 2s).

Watch for: Kids say 'add a zero' and then add zero (10 × 7 = 7). It is 'write a zero after', which moves the 7 into the tens place. Kids stumble on 10 × 0 = 0. Zero times anything is zero, including ten.

Common questions about 3rd grade 10 times table

Is the 10 times table worth practising?
Briefly. It is the base for the 5s, the 9s and the 12s, and it is where multiplying by ten becomes a place-value idea rather than a trick.
What comes after the 10s?
The 5s (half of the 10s) and the 11s are natural next steps; then the 3s, 4s, 6s, 8s, 9s, and the 7s last.
