What's on a 4th grade sheet

The sample sheet above has 12 problems. Its answers run from 170 to 8004.

Every version prints on US Letter or A4, with its answer key after the problems.

How to teach this

Show why the second line shifts: 43 × 26 is 43 × 6 plus 43 × 20, and 43 × 20 ends in a zero. Have your child write that zero in the second line at first; drop it later. Two problems worked slowly beat twelve rushed. Estimating (40 × 30 = 1,200) makes a missing shift obvious.

Watch for: Kids forget to shift the second line left (or write a zero) and add 258 + 86 instead of 258 + 860. The second line is tens, so it starts one place over. Kids carry from the first line into the second. Each line gets its own carries; cross the old ones out before starting the second line.
