3rd grade 4 times table worksheets

Tap to see another sample sheet. The picture follows the difficulty you pick.

Every problem on these sheets is from the 4 times table, 4 × 0 through 4 × 12, shuffled so your child recalls each fact rather than counting down the list. Third graders use one-table sheets to fix a single table before mixing it with the rest.

What's on a 3rd grade sheet

The sample sheet above has 25 problems. Its answers run from 0 to 48.

Every version prints on US Letter or A4, with its answer key after the problems.

How to teach this

Tie the 4s to the 2s: every 4s fact is a 2s fact doubled. A child who knows the 2s can rebuild any 4s fact in two steps until it is remembered outright. All the answers are even.

Watch for: Kids double only once (4 × 7 = 14). Say 'double, double' as two separate steps. Kids confuse 4 × 6 and 4 × 8 under time pressure. Both come from doubling twice; check with the 2s.
