Long o vowel teams (oa, ow) worksheets

Oa and ow both say the long o sound: boat, snow. Oa works inside words; ow usually takes the end.

1st grade Core grade
Each print is a different sheet with its own answer key. You don't need to sign up.
Oa and ow are the main teams for the long o sound: boat, road, and soap against snow, grow, and show. First graders sort words by team and start feeling the position pattern: oa inside words, ow at the end.

2nd grade
Second graders sort quickly and handle the longer ow words where the team ends a syllable inside the word: window, pillow, rainbow. They also learn to watch for ow's other sound (cow, how).
