Letter tracing worksheets

The same choices print the same sheet every time. You don't need to sign up.

Every letter starts at the top. The capital is tall; the small letter has its own size and its own home on the lines.

Three grades, each its own sheet. Print one here, or open a grade for examples and teaching notes.

A letter tracing sheet for preschool, for three and four year olds, takes one letter at a time, capital and small on alternate rows, as dotted outlines on penmanship guides with room after each to try the letter alone. Pick the letter above the print button; the child's own initial is the usual first.

  2. Kindergarten

    Examples and teaching notes

A letter tracing sheet, one page of the alphabet tracing set, takes one letter at a time, capital and small on alternate rows, as dotted outlines on penmanship guides with room after each to write the letter alone. Pick the letter above the print button; the sheet prints it in the print style kindergarten learns (L.K.1.a).

  3. 1st grade

    Examples and teaching notes

First graders finish the 52 letterforms (L.1.1.a) and many begin cursive at home. The same sheet prints any letter in manuscript print or in school cursive, on the same guides, so the letter a child knows in one style can be traced in the other.
