Every version prints on US Letter or A4, with its answer key on the last page.
How to teach this
Teach factor pairs as a rainbow: write 1 and 18 at the ends, then work inward (2 and 9, 3 and 6) until the pairs meet. For multiples, have your child skip-count aloud on their fingers, so "the 4th multiple of 6" is just counting by six four times. Keep the two words straight with one line: factors fit inside, multiples grow past.
Watch for: Kids mix up factors and multiples because both come from multiplication. Factors of 18 are 18 or smaller, while multiples of 18 are 18 or bigger. Kids stop listing factors too early and miss pairs like 3 and 6. Hunt in pairs from the outside in, starting with 1 and the number itself.
Common questions about factors & multiples
- How do I know my child found all the factors?
- Check in pairs: every factor has a partner that multiplies back to the number, so 18 gives 1 and 18, 2 and 9, 3 and 6. When the pairs meet in the middle, the list is complete.
- What kinds of problems are on the sheet?
- Ten problems mixing both types: list all the factors of a number, or write a given multiple of one. Each print draws fresh numbers.
