4th grade
Independent and dependent clauses worksheets for fourth grade show one clause at a time. Your child reads it and labels it: could it stand alone as a sentence, or does its first word make it lean? Every dependent item starts with a clear signal word like because, when, or although.

Fifth grade clause worksheets add relative clauses, the ones that start with who, which, whose, or that. They hide inside sentences in real reading, so learning to spot one on its own is what makes them visible in context.

6th grade
Sixth grade worksheets use longer clauses and the full range of signal words, including unless, until, and whenever. Fast, accurate labeling here is the foundation for the phrase-and-clause grammar that seventh grade formalizes.
