6th grade fractions, decimals & percents worksheets
Fraction-decimal-percent worksheets give sixth graders one form and ask for the other two: 3/5 becomes 0.6 and 60%, 75% becomes 3/4 and 0.75. Every value terminates cleanly, so the practice is pure conversion: all three forms name the same amount.

Every version prints on US Letter or A4, with its answer key on the last page.
How to teach this
Anchor everything to hundredths: whatever form is given, ask "how many out of 100 is that?" before anything gets written. Keep a benchmark row on scratch paper (1/2, 1/4, 1/5, 1/10 with their decimals and percents) and let your child derive the rest from it. Simplifying is the step kids skip, so check that 75% lands on 3/4, not 75/100.
Watch for: Kids stack the fraction's digits into the decimal, turning 3/5 into 0.35. Scale to hundredths first: 3/5 is 60/100, so 0.6. Kids drop the decimal point going to percent, writing 0.6 as 6%. A decimal becomes a percent by multiplying by 100, so 0.6 is 60%.
Common questions about fractions, decimals & percents
- What do the answers look like?
- Two forms separated by a comma, exactly as your child writes them: given 3/5, the answer line reads 0.6, 60%. Fractions are in lowest terms and decimals drop trailing zeros.
- Do any conversions come out messy?
- No. Every fraction on the sheet terminates cleanly, so there are no repeating decimals. Each print draws a fresh mix of all three directions.
