The kind of sentences you'll unscramble

Put the words in order. Write the sentence on the line.

  1. asingfunsong.We

Rebuilt: We sing a fun song.

  2. leg.onIhopone
  3. fliestheoverMykitetrees.

Every print pulls a fresh set of items at this level, so a make-up test or a second sibling never gets the same sheet.

What's on each sheet

Every version prints on US Letter or A4, with its answer key on the last page.

How to teach this

Say the tiles out loud together in their scrambled order and enjoy how silly they sound. Then hunt for the capital. Once your child places the first and last words, the middle usually falls in by ear. Reading the finished sentence aloud is the self-check.

Watch for: Kids build a word chain that sounds close but skips a word. Have them touch each tile as they read their sentence back; every tile gets used exactly once. Kids ignore the capital and end-mark clues and start anywhere. The two marked tiles are anchors: place them first, then build the bridge between them.

Common questions about sentence unscramble

My child cannot read all the words yet. Is this too hard?
The kindergarten sheets use short, simple words on purpose. Read any hard tile together, then let your child do the ordering. The thinking being practiced is word order, not decoding.
How does my child know where to start?
One tile starts with a capital letter and one carries the period. Those two are the anchors: first word, last word. The sheet teaches kids to spot them before anything else.
