What's on a 7th grade sheet
- Fractional unit rates. Find each exact unit rate. Show division using the reciprocal and include units. 8 problems per page.
Every version prints on US Letter or A4, with its answer key after the problems.
How to teach this
Read the requested units first. Ask which quantity is being measured per one unit of the other. Have your child show the reciprocal multiplication and write units with every answer.
Watch for: The requested units decide which quantity goes on top. Hours per meter and meters per hour are different rates. Invert the divisor when dividing fractions.
Common questions about 7th grade fractional unit rates
- Which fractions appear?
- Both given quantities are positive halves, from 1/2 through 9/2. Answers are exact whole numbers or reduced fractions.
- Does the rate direction change?
- Yes. For example, one problem asks for meters per hour and another asks for hours per meter.
- What does the key show?
- By default, each key shows division, multiplication by the reciprocal and a simplified result with the requested units. Choose Answers only for final answers without the worked steps.
